Something for Mommy

I haven’t done much for myself in a long time. You could safely say around 3 years and 11 months ago to be exact. That would be when we found out we were expecting baby girl number 1.

I may be the last person on the planet to hear about Stitch Fix, but when I saw it roll across my FB newsfeed I was immediately drawn to it.  It is a genius concept and perfect for me. A stylist somewhere in style world takes my measurements, considers my personal style preferences, and conveniently delivers a beautiful package with 5 exciting wardrobe items to choose from- right to my doorstep.  The items I don’t want to keep easily ship back for free, from my mailbox! I thought it might be too good to be true, but I went ahead and completed my style profile.  Casual, spit-up proof, tummy hiding… my requests were pretty basic.  I scheduled my delivery date for one week before I made another step toward returning to work.  You can check out my stash below and I will give you my first hand critique…

Okay, so I was pretty much sold when I saw a tag that said “slimming pant”! I was amazed at how great everything fit. Then I had to decide what to keep and what to ship back.  I wanted to pick one top this month.  The blue and black is a little geometric for my taste, but the fit was amazing.  For the first time in a long time, I actually had a waist! The mint and black stripped sweater was really comfy.  I wish you could feel the material! I loved the pattern on the orange top.  Clearly they knew I lived in Vol Country! It also fit perfect and could be dressed up for work or paired with jeans for a quick weekend get-up.  In the end, the orange top was the winner! I debated on the earrings but thought I would prefer something different from some of the pairs I already had, so when I sent in my product reviews I added a note requesting that the next set have a little bit more flair. That’s the great part, every Fix you order becomes more personalized to you. And no two people ever recieve the same set.  They even look at your Pinterest boards to get to know you a little better. How cool is that?!

So, I didn’t have to get a babysitter, go to the store, and try on lots of clothes that don’t fit my post-baby body.
I could send back everything I didn’t want- from my house. For free.
And I can schedule the next package to arrive any time I want.  My next one is set to arrive on my birthday next month!!!
