Reese’s 1st Birthday Party- Behind the Scenes

So yes, Reese’s first birthday party was a little over the top.  Isn’t that how 1st birthdays are supposed to be?  One day she will ask to party at Chuckie Cheese, and I will be ok with that, because when she was one, I had my turn :)

She is a girlie girl who loves to play dress up, so we went with the theme Pearls, Lace, & Southern Grace. Really it was one big Pinterest inspired craft project, with lots of special helpers. I wanted to divide this post up into sections to give a shout-out to those special people.

Luckily I have my very own personal graphic designer who works for cheap :) He didn’t even wince when I asked him to design custom labels for the pickle jars.  That was totally necessary for the party right? He also did a great job building the photo booth. Grant definitely helped bring my vision to life, and I am so grateful. That man loves his baby girl!!

Next up on the shout-out list is Summer Sharp.  Summer is a great friend and happens to be good at most everything. Right now she seems to be balancing office manager, salon specialist, and baker! She did amazing on Reese’s desserts.  She definitely got my Ladies & Gents theme, and totally out did herself.  Her mom was a huge help too :) Not only were her desserts pretty, they were also delicious.  Gourmet delicious! Thanks Summer.  You did great!!

Next, can I give a shout-out to myself?  I am the one with all the hot glue burns! I will take credit, along with pinterest, for the craft projects.  These were all Little money Big impact.  How cheap is a piece of lace turned into a crown? Or scrapbook paper turned into wall fans?  The balloon topiaries were made of PVC pipe.  The R was one big piece of cardboard wrapped in yarn!  I have even used most of these as new decorations in Reese’s room (sad I can’t say “nursery” because she is a big 1 year old now!).

Oh, Thelen Wright. You were a life-saver!  There was no way I could take pictures and enjoy the party.  I love how you captured all of Reese’s buddies enjoying the party  They all looked so adorable, and some of Reese’s expressions were priceless.  Thelen gets photo credit for all of the pictures in this post. She is awesome!!

Thank you to all of Reese’s buddies who came to celebrate with us.  We are so grateful for your friendship.

Last but not least, thank you to Mam & Papaw for helping with all the yummy southern food.  Thank you to Aunt Kayla & Mamaw for helping me set it all up and pull it all together. Thank you to the talented face painters. And thanks to all of you who loaned me lace and party stuff. You are all greatly appreciated!

So for next year…
